Anne von Seutter Fox was born on October 26,1928, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Dr. Carl Raymond and Bess Caruthers von Seutter. She attended the Jackson Public Schools, graduating from Central High School in 1945. She attended Millsaps College in 1945-46. She worked in the billing department of the Bell Telephone Company in 1946-47. She then entered the University of Mississippi, graduating in 1950 with a B.A. degree in Education.
She taught school in Merigold, Mississippi, in 1950-51. She moved to Canton, Mississippi, to teach at Canton High School in 1951, where she met and married her husband, Cecil Cole Fox in 1952.
Anne was a charter member of the Mid-Century Club of Canton, where she became involved with the Mississippi Lung Association, serving that organization in various positions for 50 years. She was recognized as Woman of the Year in 1963 by the Mississippi Federation of Women’s Clubs. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the Mississippi Lung Association in 1970.
Always interested in her community, she served as a Cub Scout leader and a Girl Scout leader. She was an active member of the Canton Music Study Club, serving as President and Recording Secretary. An active member of the First Baptist Church of Canton, she taught Sunday School for many years. In 1962, the Canton Chamber of Commerce presented her with the Award of Special Merit for service to the City of Canton. She retired from teaching in 1976 and worked for Cole Brothers and Fox Company, Canton, Mississippi, for 20 years before retiring in1996.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 61 years, Cecil Fox, Sr., her parents and her brother, Dr. Carl Raymond von Seutter, Jr. (Virginia). She is survived by her son Cecil Fox, Jr., of Canton; son William Edward Fox (Shelley), of Canton; and daughter, Rev. Linda S. Fox, of Natchez, MS. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: Megan Fox Boyer (Wilson) of Canton, Molly Fox Ramsay (Josh) of Canton, and Joseph Henderson Fox (Olivia) of Natchez, MS, and her great-grandchildren; Adalynn Elizabeth Ramsay, Charles Everett Boyer, Thomas Cole Boyer and Anne Conlee Ramsay (arriving in March, 2019).

Visitation will be Thursday, October 25, at Breeland Funeral Home from 5:00 till 7:00 pm and Friday from 10:00 till 10:45am. The funeral service will be Friday at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church, burial will be in the Canton Cemetery.
