Balasubramaniam Thanjore Obituary

Ultimate reality is unity beyond time and space. Our physical existence is but a transient journey. The physical journey of Balasubramaniam R. Thanjore began on November 10, 1966 in Chennai, India. He was the youngest child of Mr.Rama Moorthy and Ms. Shakunthala.   Known to all as Bala, he joined the Indian Air Force at the young age of sixteen. In 1993, he got married to Radha. They were stationed in Assam and Delhi in India before moving to the United States in 1997.  In 2000, Bala joined Blue Cross Blue Shield and they moved to Mississippi which has been their home since then. He was a valued employee at BCBS in his role of Senior Systems Analyst. They were blessed with two sons, Magrish and Vidyarth.

Bala -  a humble man, a natural leader, a multi-talented individual helped his friends with many projects. He was hardworking, diligent, creative, and passionate at any thing he did and will be the last to leave the job site. He played a key role in our temple Kumbabishekam – He was a friend to architects, helped in purchasing right tools for architects, he designed a pulley system to move Lord Shiva in to place.  He also served in leadership roles for temple as a board member.

Bala was not only a caring and loving person for family as a good husband and a father, he served his friends and society. Bala was thambi to everybody - to his parents, sisters, relatives; daddy to his kids; his friends and colleagues describe him as a man of perseverance and one who was always willing to help others. Bala will be missed dearly by his loving family and by his many, many friends. In the view of many he did his duties till he departed for his final journey leaving this physical world. We are all sure he will start his next journey and continue serving his higher power.

Bala is survived by his loving wife, Radha Bala, his sons, Magrish and Vidyarth (Brandon, MS). He is also survived by his parents, Ramamoorothy and Shakunthala Thanjore, his sisters Vijayalakshmi (Ashok) and Vidyavathy (Panneer Selvan), his father-in-law, Ramanathan and mother-in-law, Meenakshi, his brother-in-law, Ramesh Kumar(Bhuvana) and many loving nephews and nieces (Chennai, India).
