Fredrick Anthony Acy, 61 of Camden, MS went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 1, 2018. He was born on December 20, 1956 in Canton, MS to Charles F. Acy and Bernice Robertson Acy. He was a member of Camden Baptist Church.
Tony was an amazing Husband, Daddy, Grandaddy, GGDaddy, Brother, Uncle and also known as Pawpaw to his EMS family. He was a 1st responder for 25 plus years, EMT Basic to Paramedic to AMR County Supervisor along with being County FD Fire Chief- Camden FD-1. To the very end, he had plans “to get back on the truck”.
To know Tony was to love Tony. He was a gracious caregiver, always taking care of others before himself. Tony showed so much compassion not just to his family but to everyone he knew and met. He never met a stranger, and he always had a handshake and a hug waiting. If you knew Tony, you knew love. He had enough for everyone and expressed it to all. His love for his wife and children was like no other. Daddy always ended the conversation with “ I love y'all, come see me and kiss those grandbabies for me.” Tony will truly be missed but never forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles F. Acy and Bernice Acy, father-in-law Tom Gunter, his baby girl Kristen Amanda Acy, sister Ouida Campbell and brother-in-law Robert A. “Bob” Campbell, and brother-in-law William Terry McDonald, Sr.
He is survived by his wife Karen Gunter Acy of Camden, MS; son Anthony Acy (JoAnn) of Brandon, MS; daughter Alison Acy Spivey (Danny) of Canton, MS; son Joshua Acy of Camden, MS; sister Frieda Acy McDonald of Southaven, MS; mother-in-law Alma Ray Gunter of Camden, MS; grandchildren Sarah Acy Pulliam (Stan), Colby Acy, Ashlyn Acy, Starr Spivey, and Daniel Spivey; great-grandchild Maddy Claire Pulliam; niece Vicki Campbell Barry (Dennis) of Sugar Land, TX; nephew Billy R.
