James Joseph McKay, III

James Joseph “Joe” McKay, III, 65, died Friday, November 10, 2017 in New Orleans.  Visitation will be 5 – 7 pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Breeland Funeral Home.  The Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in the Canton Cemetery.

Joe was a sales representative for Sunbelt Bolt and Screw Company.  He was an avid hunter and craftsman and enjoyed flying his hot air balloon.  He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he was also a member of the Sacred Heart Men’s Club.  Joe was also a loyal member of Canton Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Showah and James Joseph McKay, Jr.

Survivors include: wife, Lycresia McKay of Canton; daughters, Jennifer McKay Ford (David) of Jackson and Lindsey McKay of Jackson; sisters, Shirley McKay Burns of Canton, Carol McKay Whiddon (Mark) of Meridian, and Betty Jean McKay Kirby (Nicky) of Camden; his grandson who he loved spending time with, Beckett McKay Ford; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Canton Elks Lodge.
