Janice Elaine (Shackleford) Ritchey

Janice Elaine Shackleford Ritchey went home to the Lord on November 22, 2017, at St. Dominic Hospital after an extended illness.

Jan was preceded in death by her mother, Charlyne Boone Shackleford, her brothers, George N. Shackleford, Jr., and Charles Boone Shackleford, and her grandparents Alma and Gilbert Boone and Miriam and Hoffman Shackleford.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Jake Ritchey, Canton, MS, her father, George N. Shackleford, Metairie, LA, sisters, Martha Shackleford, Metairie, LA, and Susan Shackleford, Enterprise, MS, and her aunt Martha Boone Cooper, Morton, MS.

She is also survived by her nieces, Lauren Tucker, Metairie, LA, and Sarah Crawley, Enterprise, MS, her nephews Drew and Mason Tucker, Metairie, LA, her step-son, Jacob Ritchey, Jr., (Ashley) and their two children, Liam and London Ritchey, Palm Spring, CA, and many cousins.

Jan was a compassionate, talented and fun-loving person who deeply loved her family including her canine companions.  She is at peace.

Visitation will be at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 1:00 pm until the 2:30 graveside service at Canton Cemetery.
