John Daniel Matthews

John Daniel Matthews, 48, of Canton, MS died June 13, 2018 at his residence.

He was born July 30, 1969 in Jackson, MS and was the son of James Ellis Matthews and Willie Lee Matthews.

A memorial service will be on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Pinelake Church Reservoir, 6071 Highway 25, Brandon, MS.  Rev. Ken Murphy will officiate.

John enjoyed music, hunting, fishing, golfing and collegiate sports. He graduated from Wingfield High School. He was a member of Pinelake Church and involved in various ministries.

He is preceded in death by his parents James and Willie Matthews. He is survived by his sister Debbie Matthews Russell (Terry) of Daphne, AL and brother James David Matthews (Teresa) of Brandon, MS; nieces Vanessa Fridge (John) of Daphne, AL; Kaisey Douglas (Ben) of Byram, MS; and Meagan Matthews of Brandon, MS; nephews Matthew Russell (Ashleigh) of Daphne, AL and Ryan Matthews (Melissa) of Franklin, TN; great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
