Mary Campbell Addison of Fort Worth, Texas, formerly of Watkinsville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 1 at her home at the age of 70. Born in Canton, Mississippi, on September 30, 1947, she was the daughter of the late David Campbell and Elizabeth Mosal Campbell. Mary, a 1973 graduate of Southern Mississippi University, spent her professional life as a schoolteacher in Oconee County, Georgia, teaching for over 20 years, a job she loved. Her husband, James Harold Addison, to whom she was married for 36 years, preceded her in death. Mary moved to Fort Worth in recent years to be closer to her daughter’s family, and took special delight in her role as “MayMay” to her grandson, Bobby. Mary will be greatly missed by her daughter Ashlee Addison Brenner, Ashlee’s husband Wich, and their son Bobby, of Fort Worth, Texas; her sister, Betty Stanford of Austin, Texas, and their daughters, Mary’s nieces, Susan Bradley of Watkinsville, Georgia and Elizabeth McIllece of Austin, Texas. A visitation service will be held in Canton, Mississippi, on Saturday, April 7 at 11:30 a.m. at Breeland Funeral Home, 3304 South Liberty Street, with a funeral service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Interment will be held immediately following at Canton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Texas Oncology Foundation.
