Shirley R Tate

Shirley R. Tate, 82, died Friday, February 23, 2018.  Visitation will be at Breeland Funeral Home on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 9:00 am until the 10:30 am chapel service.  Burial will be in the Canton Cemetery.

A native of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Mrs. Tate was a former member of First Christian Church of Clarksdale, MS where she was a member of the choir.  She worked as a receptionist for Dr. Boyce Craig Optometrist and worked for 10 years at the Flowood Walmart.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Jerry H. Brooks and second husband Roy Tate.

Survivors include: sons, Ben Brooks (Danise) of Suwanee, GA and Chris Brooks (Kim) of Ridgeland, MS; daughter, B. J. Gunnell of Fayetteville, AR; and sisters, Kathleen Gann and Linda Boschert.  She is also survived by her grandchildren who gave her great joy, Connor Brooks, Erin Mettelman (David), Austin Brooks, and Corry Hull.
