Terry Bailey Obituary

Terry Moore Bailey passed away on January 28, 2018, at the age of 68.  Born in Forrest City, AR, she moved to Mississippi to attend the Mississippi University for Women. After graduation, she met the love of her life, another Terry.  After a lengthy courtship, four months, they were married.  Her mother shared this verse on her wedding day:  “Commit your way to the Lord; Trust also in Him, and He will do it.  He will bring forth your righteousness as the light…” Psalm 37:5-6.  She held those words near to her heart as she was devoted to her Christ, her husband, and her children in that order.  Her relationship with Jesus was evident in her desire to share His word.  She was active at First Baptist Church of Canton where she taught GA’s, sang in the choir, and hosted women’s Bible studies in her home.  She also went on several mission trips to Honduras and Hong Kong and was involved with the Emmaus Walk.

She held the job title that she dreamed of, which was being a homemaker, and she filled her home with such love and mothered with such wisdom!  Her family will remember her favorite saying, which was “willful waste makes woeful want.” She taught this by covering Pringles and coffee cans with brown gingham contact paper to use as storage canisters and gave a monthly clothing allowance to her children to practice budgeting at an early age.  Many of her creative ideas are being used by her children and grandchildren today.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Waudine Moore, and brother Neel Moore.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Terry Bailey; her son, Michael Bailey (Vivian) of Santa Clara, CA, her daughters, Andrea Davenport (Dennis) of Clinton and Tricia Fioranelli (Jeffrey) of Cleveland; 11 precious grandchildren; her sister Karen Shelton (Buddy) of Columbus; nieces Jennifer Caldwell (Andy) of Columbus and Marti Moore (David) of Nashville, TN; and her nephew Keith Moore of Little Rock, AR.

Visitation for Terry will be at Breeland Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  A celebration of Terry’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Center Terrace Baptist Church in Canton.
