Bettye Warren Ratliff

Bettye Warren Ratliff died on January 22, 2026 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. Bettye was born on November 22, 1941 to James Estes Warren and Elizabeth (Sue) Johnson Warren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jimmy Marciel, and granddaughter Marisa Carroll. She is survived by daughters Paula Burns (Mark), Penni Rinewalt, and Sharon Simpson (John), and brother John Fulwider(Pam).  She is also survived by grandchildren Rob Smith, Mitchell Burns (Madison), Mackey Simpson, Nathan Simpson(Catherine), Joseph Simpson (Caroline), Cate Smith (Will), Chance Joiner, Mills Taylor (Drake) and 9 great grandchildren.

Bettye graduated from Mississippi College with a BS in Nursing, and she studied Women’s Health Nursing at Emory University.  Bettye had a long career as a nurse and OBGYN nurse practitioner. She worked all over the state of Mississippi as well as in Florida, Texas, and California. She also enjoyed several travel nursing opportunities over the years. 

Bettye was an avid reader, especially of her Bible. She enjoyed many crafts over the years, growing plants, and playing games with family. She loved her family and her pets.  She loved Jesus, her Lord and Savior, and often said she was ready to be with Him.

A graveside service will be held  on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 11:30 am at Canton Cemetery. Breeland Funeral Home of Canton is handling arrangements.
