Carlton Glen Murphy

Carlton Glen Murphy, aged 61, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2024, at his home surrounded by his immediate family. He was born on January 25, 1963 in Kilmichael, MS to Carl and Dorothy Murphy. He was a proud resident of Madison, MS and was a 1983 graduate of Madison Ridgeland High School. He married his high school sweetheart Tammie Clark Murphy on April 6, 1985. After high school, he went to work with his father at Davidson Marble and Granite Works. Glen had a servant’s heart which led him to volunteer at Gluckstadt and Madison Fire Departments and also volunteering and later working for the Madison County Sheriff’s Department.

Glen was a very kind and loving individual who cared immensely for his fellow man.  He loved his family more than words can describe, especially his devoted wife, Tammie.  The pride and love he had for his family will forever stand the test of time. Glen was a huge movie buff and enjoyed western films most of all, shown by his love of western wear, namely his long brown trench coat and his cowboy hat.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents Carl Denis and Dorothy Jean Murphy. Glen is survived by his wife, Tammie Clark Murphy; Oldest Son, Carl Ted Murphy, (Amanda) and children, Morghyn and Beckham. Twin, Thomas Emmet Murphy, (Courtney): Twin, John Dewitt Murphy, (Kristen) and child Bridgette. Sister, Lein Doyle, (Greg) and two nieces, and many cousins, and close family friends.

Family, friends, and others are invited to Breeland Funeral Home, 3304 S Liberty St, Canton, MS 39046 for visitation at 1:00 pm and service following at 2:00 pm on Friday July 19, 2024, to remember and honor the life of Carlton Glen Murphy. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Webster Animal Shelter, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or cancer society of your choice.
