Christie Sue Cowart

Christie S. Cowart, age 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family as she entered into
the eternal light of the Lord.

Visitation will be held at Breeland Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. chapel service. Burial will follow at Flora Cemetery.

Affectionately known as "Mamaw Cricket," or simply "Cricket," Christie was a woman whose kindness, strength, and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She dedicated 26 years of faithful service as office manager at Jackie's International, where she was respected for her dedication, dependability, and caring nature. Christie was a proud graduate of Central High School, Class of 1977.

Christie's greatest blessing in life was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured every moment spent with those she loved. Her heart especially shined for her great-granddaughter, Riverlynn Sledge, lovingly known as "Pookie" Christie's face would light up at the sound of her laughter, and she found joy in spoiling her with cookies, love, and endless affection. Her warm spirit, generous heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper "Sonny" Pitts and Marie Pitts.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Connie Wilkinson (Robert); her son, Michael Cowart; her sisters, Mary Brown (Bill) and Janice Kuyrkendall (Tommy): her grandchildren.
Celina Sledge (Corey), Brittany Wilkinson (Isaac), and Nathaniel Wilkinson; and her beloved great-granddaughter. Riverlynn Sledge.

Pallbearers honoring Christie and carrying her to her final resting place will be Michael Cowart, Nathaniel Wilkinson, Corey Sledge, Adrian Lott, Zachary Kuyrkendall, and Alex Kuyrkendall.
