Mrs. Scrivner was devoted to God and to her family. She was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church. Clarine had a passionate relationship with God and believed in answered prayer even to the end of her life. Mrs. Scrivner instilled her Christian values in her four children. She demanded that they show respect during church and listen to the sermon. Some of her rules were no gum chewing, talking, or writing notes. She made it a priority to raise her family in church.
Clarine had a strong work ethic and was a hard worker. Her career consisted of being a seamstress in a Jackson manufacturing company for many years. She completed her career as a daycare worker.
Clarine enjoyed cooking for her family and was a fantastic cook. She would arise early on Sunday mornings to prepare delicious meals for her family to enjoy after church each week. Clarine’s homemade fried apple pies and chicken and dumplings will most definitely be missed.
Clarine had several hobbies, but her most favorite was vegetable and flower gardening. She could grow tomato plants ten feet tall! Her yard was covered with beautiful flowers, and her gardens were always weed free until her health declined.
