Daisy Bell Denson Pentecost, 93 of Canton, MS, passed away peacefully at the Nichols Center in Madison, MS, on April 18, 2021.
Visitation will be at Breeland Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm with the funeral service at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Canton. Burial will be in the Canton Cemetery.
A native of Canton, she was born on April 9, 1928 to George Berry Denson and Jestine Bates Denson. Growing up in Sand Hill, she graduated from Pisgah High School where she was a Star basketball player.
Daisy met the love of life, Jack in March of 1946 on a blind date. They married on November 30th of the same year and were married for 67 years.
She had various jobs through the years but is mostly known for being a Madison County Deputy and the Jailer with her husband from 1967 until 1984.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canton.
Her many hobbies included spending time with her family, crocheting, quilting, sewing and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James A. (Jack) Pentecost; daughter, Georgia Arnold; sister, Wanzie Winans; and great grandson, Luke Edward Hales. Her parents, George Berry Denson and Jestine Bates Denson.
Her survivors include: daughters, Diane Cauthen (John), Brenda Zeigler, Karen Galloway (Chuck), and son James Pentecost (Cindy). Grandchildren include: Stacey Sanders, Kelley Thompson, Will Cauthen, Wendy Woods, Les Arnold, Stephen Zeigler, Lee Ann Hales, Jamie Pigg, Shelby Pentecost, Kyle Michael Millican, Tucker Millican and 18 great grandchildren.
She will be missed by many and cherished through the wonderful memories she has left us with.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 377, Canton, MS.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Will Cauthen, Stephen Zeigler, Les Arnold, Kyle Michael Millican, Tucker Millican and nephew Denson Robinson.
