David Anthony “Tony” Tumminello passed into his heavenly home on Monday, November 13, 2023, in his parents’ arms at University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Tony was born on September 14, 2023, to Janie and Mat Tumminello of Canton, MS.
He is survived by his parents; siblings Vinny and Mattie Tumminello; maternal grandparents Kim and David Kennedy of Canton, MS; paternal grandparents Penny and Mark Tumminello of Madison, MS; maternal great-grandmother Dolores Robertson of Canton, MS; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
As we were cleaning out our precious baby’s nursery, I noticed the indentations the crib had made on the carpet. I could not believe it had made such big indentations when it had not been there for long. Then, I thought about the short time Tony was with us and the big indentations that he left on our hearts. The indentations in the carpet will fade, but the ones in our hearts never will. We will forever cherish the short time we got to spend with Tony. He grasped so many hearts in the time he was with us, and he was always the talk of the NICU. We are blessed that God chose us to be his parents.
“Our hearts are unprepared for such loss,
and we are deeply grieved.
Even so, Heavenly Father,
we are grateful for the life that was,
for the gift of a living thing so easily loved.”
-Every Moment Holy
