Dolores Escaig Best

Dolores Escaig Best, 88, a resident of St. Catherine’s Village, Madison, MS, died Saturday, February 24, 2018, at St. Dominic Hospital.  Visitation will be Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 5:00  pm until the 6:00 pm Rosary Service at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton.  Visitation will also be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt on Friday, from 2:00 pm until the 3:00 pm Funeral Mass.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of New Orleans, LA, Mrs. Best received her elementary education from St. Maurice Catholic School and she graduated from Francis T. Nichols High School.  She was a resident of Woodville, MS before moving to Madison.  She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Gluckstadt.

Survivors include: her husband of 66 years, Joseph Best of Madison; son, Joseph Best, Jr. (Martie) of Douglasville, GA; daughters, Ellen  Klein (Dan) of St. Francisville, LA and Susan Brown (Norman) of Madison; grandchildren, James Bennett, Carlin Kendrick, Lorna Klein, Shelley Goddard, Mike Brown, Michelle Hicks, and Andrew Brown; and 12 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by a niece, Vickie V. Hickey (Ray) of Chalmette, LA.
