Druscilla Thompson Obituary

Druscilla M. Thompson (93 years old) passed away on December 2, 2025, after a long battle with rheumatoid arthritis. She was a resident of Highland Home in Ridgeland, MS after relocating from Canton, MS many years ago.

She was born on April 10, 1932, in Canton, MS. Druscilla graduated from Canton High School and Copiah-Lincoln Junior College in Wesson, MS.

On January 25, 1953 she married Franklin V. Thompson who preceded her in death.

After spending some time during the cold war in Germany and afterwards in California, Druscilla worked as a bookkeeper at Cole Brothers & Fox Company in Canton, MS for over 30 years before retiring. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Canton, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milo C. and Susie K. Maris; Brothers, Charles W. Maris, and Milo V. Maris; sister Mary L. Cooper; and son, Stanley J. Thompson.

She is survived by her sister Martha Maris; son, William F. (Bill) Thompson; daughter, Susan T. Bock; grandchildren, William P. (Parker) and Maris V. Thompson, Michael, Stephen (Megan) and Anna Bock; great grandchildren, Sunday Rose, Skye and Starlynn Bock.

Visitation will be held at Breeland Funeral Home Friday December 5 at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM chapel service. Interment will be at the Canton Cemetery.
