Ernest Leo Norwood

Ernest was born September 15, 1954 and departed this world on May 1st, 2022 surrounded by family.

 He is survived by his children, Susan (Wilbert) Carpenter-Bailey, Ashley Norwood-Green (Jason), and Becky (Randon). He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren: Paige, Jacob, Leslie, Addyson, Ava, and Aubree. He also has three great-grandchildren: Skylar, Tyler, and Josiah. He is survived by a brother, Michael; and a sister, Flora.

He was well known as “Leo the Roofer”- Roofing was his passion and his work spoke for itself. He was in great demand far and wide.  He was loved by everyone that knew him. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help others. He was very intelligent, meticulous, kindhearted, and loving.

He battled with cancer for 14 yrs before he won the fight and left his earthly home to walk the streets of gold with his heavenly father.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Sr. and Virginia Norwood and three brothers- Elmer Jr., Edward, and William (Big Oney).
