Evelyn Guess

Evelyn Durham Guess, 95 passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at The Nichols Center.

Visitation will be at Breeland Funeral Home on Saturday, January 30, 2021 beginning at 9:30 am.  Graveside services will be in the Canton Cemetery Saturday at 11:00 am.  All who attend will be asked to wear a mask and practice COVID protocols.

Mrs. Guess retired from Magnolia Federal Bank.  She was a member of Center Terrace Baptist Church where she played the piano for 25 years.  She was a member of the 20th Century Club.  She also played the piano for the Canton Rotary Club for 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert “Bob” Durham; parents, Percy and Tommie Sullivan; brother, Enoch Sullivan; and second husband, James M. Guess.

Survivors include: daughter, Carolyn Harry (Franklin) of Canton; grandson, Rev. James Charles Moore, Jr. (Shannon) of Chunky; granddaughter, Emily Moore of Natchez; step-children, Cindy Simmons (Ben) of Dallas, TX, Chuck Guess of Madison, and Jim Guess of Fort Worth, TX; 6 step-grandchildren; 8 step-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
