Hazel McCrory Strong

Hazel McCrory Strong was born in Morton, MS and lived in Forkville, MS until she moved to Madison, MS. Hazel graduated from Forkville High School and attended Draughn’s Buisness School in Jackson, MS. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt before moving to St. Catherines.

She worked at McKesson Drug and Allstate Insurance before retirement.

                Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; Father, Jimmy McCrory and Mother, Dollie Pickett McCrory. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Anslum A. “Sonny” Strong Jr. and daughter Sondra Strong Box.

                She is survived by her sons, Randall Strong (Sherry), Dennis Strong (Judy), and Charles Strong (Linda); grandchildren Jason Strong (Stephanie), Alison Gilmore (Brandon), Matt Strong (Christy), Miriam Carman (Kendall), Natalie Hutto (Jeremy), Lisa Strong Clark, Lindsay Bouchillon (Danny), Adam Box (Ashley) and 15 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday September 5, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt, MS from 10:00 A.M. until the 11:30 A.M. funeral service. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery following the funeral service.

                In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be sent to St. Joseph Catholic Church; 127 Church Road; Madison, MS 39110.
