Jagan Nath Sethi, age 77, of Madison, Mississippi, passed away on October 21, 2023. He was born on April 2, 1946, in Nowshera, Pakistan, and immigrated to India during the divisional war in 1947. Jagan lived with his family in a refugee camp in Ludhiana, India, where he completed his education. He then married and settled in Chandigarh, India, where he worked as a Machinist at Hindustan Machine Tool. In 1975, he immigrated to the United States and made Mississippi his home.
Jagan was a dedicated and hardworking individual. For 48 years, he served as a Partner and Manager of Bumpers Drive-In of America, working in multiple locations throughout Mississippi, including Philadelphia, Hazelhurst, Jackson, and most recently, Canton. His commitment to customer service and operational expertise contributed to the success of the business.
Outside of his career, Jagan was known for his loveable and boisterous personality. He had an outgoing nature and connected well with others. He was passionate, empathetic, and had a big heart. Jagan enjoyed spending time with his family, engaging in daily meditation, serving others, and indulging in desserts.
Jagan is survived by his loving son, Gagan Sethi, daughter-in-law, Lucky Sethi, and his grandchildren, Joshua Sethi, Aashna Sethi; his son Amar Sethi, daughter-in-law, Angela Sethi, and his grandchildren, Anisha Sethi, and Shiv Sethi; his daughter Joty Budhraja and his grandchildren, Shawn Budhraja, and Sunny Budhraja.
He is also survived by his brother, Krishan Sethi and sister-in-law, Phulan Sethi; his brother, Dr. S.L. Sethi and sister-in-law, Raksha Sethi; his sister-in-law, Krishna Sethi; and his sister, Shanta Khanna.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sita Rani Sethi and Kanhaiya Lal Sethi; his parents-in-law, Tej Bhan and Ram Ditti; his wife, Kaushyla Sethi; his brother, Brij Lal Sethi; his brother, Mohan Lal Sethi and sister-in-law, Sushila Sethi; his sister, Phulan Vanti Manaktala and brother-in-law, Brij Lal Manaktala; and his sister, Amrita Chatkara and brother-in-law, Banwari Lal Chatkara.
Jagan's life will be celebrated with a service on October 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton, Mississippi. The funeral home will be assisting the family with the arrangements. Jagan worshipped at the Sita Ram Hindu Temple in Jackson and attended the International Church of God of Prophecy.
