James (Jim) David March, 56, of Madison, Mississippi, passed away to heaven at St. Dominic Hospital on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 12:50 AM.
Jim was born in Anaheim, California. Growing up, Jim was interested in playing sports and photography. In high school, he played football, baseball, and basketball. After high school, he loved spending time at the desert, the lakes, and the rivers on his numerous motorcycles, ATVs, three-wheelers, and boats with all of his friends. It was also after high school that he began his lifelong career at Raytheon (formerly Hughes Aircraft Company), a military defense contractor. Jim married Shelley Harpole on October 16, 1982. He later moved to Madison, Mississippi in 1993 with his wife and newborn son, Logan, where he spent the rest of his life.
By all accounts, Jim was simply an amazing person. He was beyond brilliant. He knew how to do everything. He could build anything, and he could fix anything. He was always very generous and giving. He loved helping people. He had an infectious personality. He left an impact on everyone he encountered. He loved being around people, and he especially loved being with his family, whether that be spending time with his wife or going to Ole Miss games with his son. Last but not least, he loved God. He was a remarkable man that left an incredible legacy and impossible shoes to fill. He will be forever missed by everyone who knew him.
Jim is survived by his wife, Shelley; his son, Logan; his father, Stephen; his older brother, Daniel (Jane); and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine.
Visitation for the family will be held on Wednesday, April 18 at Breeland Funeral Home from 5-7 PM and on Thursday, April 19 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church at 10 AM with a memorial service following at 11.
