He was a 1972 graduate of Ole Miss, and he was a huge Ole Miss football fan.
He is survived by his wife Bobbie Richardson, children James D Richardson,III, Katie McCellan, Raye Harris, and Pam Burns, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
He answered to many names…
James, Jim, JD, Dad, Pop, & his most favorite of all… Papaw.
He was one of the most self-less, kind hearted, amazing husband, and true friend I have ever known.
He was an amazing husband to Bobbie Richardson for 27 years Their marriage was one they write lifetime movies about. Friendship that turned into a beautiful marriage. Respect, love, and trust. They loved being with each other. You saw one, you saw the other!! Always together! Always planning their next trip to the coast, mountains, or Jim’s favorite, the beach to sit on the balcony and watch the boats coming in & out.
He was quite the athlete in highschool! Even was the starting quarterback in highschool. His love for sports was undeniable!
If you knew one thing about Jim, it would be, he is a PROUD Ole Miss graduate, &
Ole Miss Football ruled all!!!! Hotty Toddy!
He could quote any football stat! The player would’ve been long graduated, moved to another state and he would still keep up with any top Ole Miss Alumni!
He was a proud Rebel!!!
He loved watching his grandchildren playing sports. He would make any game he could and then could replay every single play!!!! & would!! Yes it was kinda annoying…lol…but we let him do it, you could see the proudness beaming!
He loved them dearly!
We will miss him beyond words can describe!
