Jane C Griffin, originally from Columbia, MS, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, March 31st . She was surrounded by her loving family.
Jane was born in Columbia on December 26, 1940, to Pauline (Blackmon) and Fred Allen Channell, the 2nd of 6 siblings. She was an accomplished seamstress and retired as an Inspector for Sperry Vickers/Eaton Aerospace.
Jane had a kind, generous, loving, and creative spirit. She enjoyed making beautiful clothes for her children and others, and Barbie outfits for her 2 daughters. Jane loved spending time with her family, creating flower arrangements, crocheting, reading, and traveling to the Smoky Mountains with her family. Whether it be a gentle shower or a thunderstorm; she loved to snuggle up with her kitty cats and fall asleep listening to the sound of the rain through the open window.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Paula Hancock of Canton, MS; son, Daniel Holmes of Seattle, WA; sisters Ann Williams of McComb, MS; Katherine Channell of Brookhaven, MS; brother, John Channell of Baton Rouge, LA. Jane will be loved and remembered as “Grammy” by the 9 grandchildren with which she was blessed: Colin, Christian, Amber, Angelique, Kyra, Kai, Daniel, Addison, and Sydney, along with several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Jane was proceeded in death by her parents, Fred and Pauline Channell; brothers, Danny and James Channell; and daughter, Linda Jones.
Graveside services will be held at the Gallman Cemetery in Gallman, MS on Tuesday, April 7th at 1:00 pm. There will be no public visitation.
