Jane Elizabeth Fitzgerald McAdory, 76, of Clinton, MS, passed away at her home on
December 30, 2020, of rare cancer that she bravely fought for over two years. She was
surrounded by her family and dear friends. She was born to parents Jack Harlan
Fitzgerald and Elizabeth Carmen Lee Fitzgerald, on July 29, 1944, in Parris Island,
South Carolina, the daughter of a career Marine. Jane met Mack McAdory in 1965, and
they married in 1966 in Jackson, MS. Together they raised three children.
Jane enjoyed being a nurse, and her career spanned several disciplines, including
psychiatric care specialization of mental health and substance abuse. A true dog lover,
she enjoyed American Kennel Club Rally and Obedience training and competition. She
was an avid reader, bird watcher, and sports enthusiast. She traveled the world with her
favorite destinations being Ireland and Puerto Rico.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years. She is survived by her
daughter, Carmen Hamilton of Austin, TX, son, Billy McAdory of Tuscon, AZ, daughter,
Tanya Coogan, and husband Rob, of Reston, VA, and granddaughters, Natalie, Nora,
Mary, and Bonnie.
Private inurnment is planned for spring at her homestead. Those wishing to make a
memorial donation may do so by honoring the United States Marine Corps’ men and
women by donating frequent flyer miles to the Hero Miles Program or a donation to The
Marine Corps Heritage Foundation.
