Janet Johnson passed away Sunday evening, November 1, 2020, at the Nichols Center in Madison, Mississippi after a brief illness. She was 75.
Janet was born in February 1945 in Long Beach, California, and was preceded in death by her husband of twenty seven years, Earl Johnson. Both Janet and Earl were long time members of Meadowbrook Church of Christ in Jackson, Mississippi, where Janet taught the two year old Sunday morning bible class for over forty years.
For many years, until her retirement earlier this year, Janet worked as an assistant teacher at Ann Smith Elementary School in Ridgeland, where she touched the lives of so many children in our community.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Nanci Sanders (Todd), and her two sons David (Shannon) and Peter (Jillian); grandsons Tice, Micah and Jonah, and granddaughters Becca, Rachel and Clara. She is survived by brothers Richard (Pat), Bobby (Laura); Bill (Reyna); Dale (Brenda) and sisters Janice (Bob); June (Ron); Judy (Larry). She was preceded in death by three brothers, Terry, Jimmie and Jerry and by a sister, Donna.
Janet was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by so very many whose lives she touched.
