Kathrine Self

Kathrine Kirby Ford Self, 92, passed away August 16, 2020 at home in the loving care of her husband Joe after a lengthy illness.

A private interment for family will be at Blackjack Baptist Church Cemetery in Philadelphia, MS at a later date.

Kathrine believed in having fun, dancing, playing bingo, and hard work. She was always the first one on the job and the last one to stop. She worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of MS for 25 years, and Sperry Vickers where she was a secretary to engineers for 8 years.

Kathrine is preceded in death by her parents; Mic Kirby, and Rozella Johnson Kirby, husband Elvin Ford, son Ronald Ford, daughter Belva Steen.

She is survived by her husband Joe Self, daughter Lanette McDaniel (Willard), stepdaughter Jan Francis, stepson Oscar Self, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
