Obituary

Linda Farmer Bennett, 78, of Clinton, MS passed away peacefully on July 1, 2023. Linda was born on 11/16/1944 to Russell and Mamie Giles in Brandon. She lived in Manor, TX with her husband William R. Bennett III and had a successful lifelong career as a bookkeeper. Linda was an active member of the VFW, (post 8787) Ladies Auxiliary for many years and was a passionate supporter of our veterans. She was preceded in death by husband William, mother Mamie, father Russell, brothers Marlin and James, children Ernest L. Farmer JR and Juanita L. (Nita) Rupp. She is survived by her siblings Elise Stewart, Wayne and Harlan Giles. Her stepchildren Bill Bennett IV(Jennifer) and Anna Bennett (Susan).  Her grandchildren Austin Rupp, Kaitlyn, Rupp, Kierstin Rupp, Crystal Morrow (James) and her 3 great grandchildren Nathaniel, Dillion and Samantha. 

Services will be held at The Chapel of the Cross in Madison, MS on Monday, 9/25/23 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Austin area VFW post 8787 to continue her support of our veterans.
