Margaret O. Kosick

Margaret Oury Kosick, 90, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 after a long illness.  She was born on October 24, 1931, in Hollywood, CA.  She moved with her family to Clarksdale, MS and later to Memphis, TN where she graduated from Central High School.  She attended Memphis State University (now University of Memphis) where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.  Margaret married and moved to Jackson and later to Canton before she returned to Memphis.  In 2004, Margaret retired from Guardsmark, Inc. and moved back to Jackson to be closer to her family.  She became an active member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church and a volunteer with St. Dominic’s Hospital.  Margaret is survived by her four children:  Miriam Petersen (Chris) of Campbell, CA;  Lee Shipley, Jr of Jackson, MS; Doug Shipley (Deirdre) of Lorton, VA; and Sara Eldridge (David) of Springfield, IL, and three granddaughters: Katherine Petersen of San Jose, CA; Louisa Eldridge, and Abigail Eldridge- both of Springfield, IL.  Margaret’s family will gather for a memorial service in Memphis at a later date.  Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
