Mary Catherine Everett

Mary Catherine Morgan Everett of Canton, MS passed away peacefully on July 22, 2022 at Madison County Nursing Home in Canton. Catherine was born in D'Lo, MS on February 25, 1924. She graduated from Brookhaven High School and moved to Canton during WWII.
Only after moving to Canton did Catherine meet the love of her life, Gerald and they married in 1946. They were later blessed with two sons, Larry and Michael.
Besides being a devoted wife and mother, Catherine worked for E&W Shirt Factory for 32 years where she became a supervisor.
After retirement, she and Gerald took up traveling and enjoyed visiting Europe, Hawaii, as well as many locations across the U. S. Around this time, Catherine also began quilting. She became quite skilled, making beautiful creations for her children and grandchildren that are still cherished today.
Throughout her adult life, Catherine was also a devoted member of Center Terrace Baptist Church in Canton where she taught children's Sunday school classes and was active in the WMU.
Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, James D and Cora Morgan; her brothers, James, Carl, Cecil, and Arthur Morgan; and her husband, Gerald Everett.
Catherine is survived by her sons, Larry (Mary Ann McLellan), Townsend, TN, and Mike (Jeanette Pugh), Canton, MS; her grandchildren, Christie Fencik (David), Larry Everett, Jr (Colleen), Ashley Broocks (Jeffrey), Jennifer Everett, and Morgan Crosta (Mike); and her great-grandchildren, Will and Sarah Grace Broocks, Teagan and Reed Everett, Cooper Fencik, and Emma and Izzy Crosta.

Memorials may be made to Center Terrace Baptist Church, Canton, MS.

Visitation will be at Breeland Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am chapel service.  Burial will be in the Canton Cemetery.
