Mildred Fuller Kuhn Pugh passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 28, 2024 at Seasons Assisted Living Home in Canton, MS.
Mildred was born April 5, 1931 in Lincoln County Mississippi to Robert and Eva Fuller. Reared on a sharecropping farm, she learned early how to work hard and overcome adversity.
She married Ellis Kuhn at the age of 15. They later made their home in Canton, where they raised nine children.
Mildred was a supervisor at Eli Walker Shirt Factory and an instructor at the Madison County Vo-Tech School. She also owned a ceramics shop.
After Ellis’s death, Mildred married Wallace Pugh. She loved singing in the choir at Center Terrace Baptist Church, working hard in her yard, and needlework.
Mildred is survived by her sister, Dot Fuller of Isola, MS; her children, Peggy Smith of Jackson, MS, Ed Kuhn (Polly) of Pelahatchie, MS, Judy Parks (Al) of Hattiesburg, MS, Bill Kuhn (Belinda) of Florence, AL, Joe Kuhn (Marilyn) of Madison, MS, Billy Wayne Kuhn of Canton, MS, and Christy Oliver (Walter) of Winona. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Ellis Kuhn, her second husband, Wallace Pugh, her siblings, Marie, Bobbie Nell, Charlene, Hazel, an infant brother, and her daughters, Marie and Helen.
Visitation will be held at Breeland Funeral Home on Friday May 31, 2024. The Funeral Service will follow at be at 11:00 am in the chapel. Burial will be at the Canton Cemetery immediately following the service.
