Nancy Lila Mae Perkins Cauthen, 82, died Thursday, May 2, 2024 surrounded by family. Visitation will be at Breeland Funeral Home from 5-7 pm, on Thursday, May 9, 2024 and again from 10-11 on Friday, May 10th followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am in the chapel. Burial will be at Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland immediately following the service.
Pallbearers will be: Trey Davis, Zach White, Matt Morgan, Brian Barlow, Yancey Jayroe, and Chris Todd.
A native of Winston County, Mrs. Cauthen lived in Ridgeland for most of her life. She retired from her day care business after many decades of loving more children than her family can count. She loved each and everyone of them as if they were her own.
Mrs. Cauthen was a member of FUMC Ridgeland now know as Old Town Wesley Church. She talked a lot about how much she enjoyed the days she sang in the choir. She loved this church family for over 50 years.
Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles Edward Cauthen. Survivors include: son, Charles E. Cauthen, Jr. (Kathryn) of Tampa, FL; daughters, Nancy Treadwell (Rory) of Madison and Lisa Dearman (Ronnie) of Ridgeland; grandchildren Sean Cauthen, Peyton Cauthen, Courtney White, Jennifer Davis, Keeton Treadwell, Crystal Barlow, and Cassie Morgan; and great-grandchildren, Max White, Brees Davis, Rorie Jane Davis, Jordyn Barlow, Beckett Barlow, Madelyn Morgan, Silas Morgan and Harper Grace Morgan.
Also preceded in death by her father, Charlie Asa Perkins; Mother, Flora Mae Perkins; Brother, Charles Warren Perkins. She is also survived by her sisters, Pat Womble of Jackson, TN, Dorothy Ables of Durant and Linda Wilmoth of Florence.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Helen Carter and Accent Care Hospice Ministries for their love and care for Mrs. Cauthen. The family thanks Delores, Jennifer, Gilda and Tina for their care of Mrs. Cauthen over the past two years.
