Patricia Glynn Carwile Breeland, 92, peacefully departed this earthly life to meet her Savior on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
Born on January 5, 1934, in Winona, MS, Patricia was the daughter of George Frank and Glynn Jacks Carwile. She lived a long, gracious life rooted in love, service, and unwavering faith. She touched countless lives with her gentle spirit and her ability to make everyone feel valued.
Patricia graduated from Big Black Central High School, Class of 1952, where she excelled both in and out of the classroom. After high school, she attended Holmes Junior College, where she was inducted into the Hall of Fame and named Miss Holmes Junior College. She continued her education at Delta State College, graduating in 1956 with a degree in music education.
In October 1959, she met the love of her life, Lee Alex Breeland Jr., at the Lion’s Club chicken noodle dinner. After a whirlwind courtship, they married on December 27, 1959, and shared a loving and devoted marriage that spanned more than six decades, until his death on April 26, 2024.
Patricia served as president of the Canton Music Study Club and as an officer of the Mississippi Federation of Music Clubs. She shared her musical gifts throughout her life, playing her favorite hymns and classical pieces on both the organ and piano. Despite crippling arthritis in both hands, she was blessed with the ability to play her beloved piano until the week before her passing.
She was a longtime member of Central Presbyterian Church, where she worshiped and served faithfully until the church closed in 1999. She then joined Briarwood Presbyterian Church, where she continued to be an active and devoted member of her faith community.
She is survived by her three children: Dr. Donna Breeland Trussell (Hugh), Lee Alex Breeland III (Sheila), and Kathryn Grace Breeland; and her brother, George Frank Carwile Jr. (Jo). She is also survived by six grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as “BeBe”: Ashley Breeland Ward (Drew), Lee Alex Breeland IV (Eden), Laurel Breeland Callahan (Ethan), David Trussell (Rebeca), Daniel Trussell, and Cameron Lee Trussell; and three precious great-grandchildren: Finley Breeland, Sutton Ward, and Breeland Ward.
Visitation will be held at Breeland Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Saturday, February 28, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Briarwood Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Canton Cemetery.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to her loving caregivers, who served her well and made it possible for her to remain at home until she entered Glory.
Memorials may be made to Briarwood Presbyterian Church.
