Patricia Penn Harreld

Patricia ‘Pat’ Penn Harreld, 64, went home to live with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 23, 2021.

Born on October 31, 1956, to the late Dorothy Bates Penn and Lester Alexander Penn, Jr., Pat was raised in Canton, Miss., and graduated in 1974 from Canton Academy where she was a drum major. She then attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss., where she was a member of the Chi Omega Fraternity and graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education.

She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Pat, or Aunt Pat, as she was affectionately known, loved fiercely and treated everyone around her like family. Her eyes would sparkle at the mere mention of her two grandchildren. They, as well as her children, were her pride and joy. Her beauty, faith, loyalty, strength, and perseverance were remarkable and inspiring.

She is survived by her siblings Charles Penn (Lynn), Scott Penn (Missy), and Kent Penn (Kathleen) all of Canton; and her children, Madison Wells of Canton and Graham Wells of Madison (Tina); her two grandsons Penn Wells and James Wells of Madison, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Lester Penn.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton, Miss. A chapel service will take place at Breeland Funeral Home on Thursday, October 28 at 11 a.m. followed by burial in the Canton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Friends of Children’s Hospital at 3900 Lakeland Drive, Suite 205, Flowood, Mississippi 39232.
