Peggy Montgomery Harvey

Peggy Montgomery Harvey, 86, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS.  A graveside celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. at the Canton Cemetery in Canton, MS. 

Peggy was born on May 12, 1934, in Senatobia, MS, to Homer L. and Aline Cathey Montgomery. When she was a small child, her family moved to Jackson, MS, where she attended school.  She graduated from Central High School.  She worked as an administrative assistant throughout her life.  In 1998, Peggy began working at Cypress Pharmaceuticals in Gluckstadt, MS, and loved her job.  She became the “Work Mama” to many of the younger employees and was recognized as Employee of the Year.  She retired from Cypress in 2013. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Canton, MS. 

Peggy’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and the title she loved most was Gaga.  In addition, her favorite pastime was attending Ole Miss sporting events, especially football and baseball.  Anyone that knew Peggy knew that she loved her children, grandchildren, and Ole Miss.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents.  Survivors include sons, Michael Howard Harvey and Mark Randall Harvey (Donna); daughter, Wendy Harvey Perry (Russell); and two granddaughters, Seward Montgomery Perry and Mary Russell Perry.
