Ronald Lee Hutchinson, Sr.

Ron, age 71, of Madison, MS passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at his home.

 Ron was born April 23, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was married to Judy Schmidt Hutchinson for 42 years. Ron was the founder of Mississippi Tent Company and enjoyed building a successful business spanning across the southeast United States. He was also an avid outdoorsman that included hunting and fishing. His hunting expeditions span across the globe and provided many fond memories and stories. Later in life, he enjoyed becoming a collector of antique Chevrolet trucks.

 Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Ed Hutchinson, Helen Welch Schmidt and Clarence J. Schmidt and brother, Edward Schmidt.

 Ron is survived by his loving wife Judy Hutchinson, a son, Lee Hutchinson and a daughter, Ellen Gleason (Blake). He also has four grandchildren: Caroline Hutchinson, Ryan Gleason, Emmie Gleason, and Mason Gleason.

 He is also survived by siblings, Russell Schmidt (Pam), Mike Schmidt, Annette Harreld, Tony Schmidt (Karen), sister-in-law Anita Schmidt and brother-in-law, Bill Tucker. He was also the uncle to numerous nephews and three nieces.

 Visitation will be Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton, MS from 4pm until 6pm. Visitation will also be on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 10am -11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church cemetery in Gluckstadt, MS.
