He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Merl Squires.

Survivors include: mother, Aline Bates Squires of Canton; sons, Kyle and Tyler Squires of Carthage; brother, Tommy Squires (Kathy) of Canton; sister, Wonda Hale (Michael) of Nashville, TN.
