William Patrick Edgar

Dr. William Patrick, “Billy Pat,” Edgar passed away Friday,Oct. 7 at 10:58 pm.  He was born in Lambert, MS Oct. 28, 1941, raised in Canton, MS, graduated from Canton High School then attended Mississippi State University. He received his DDS from University of Tennessee and served in the armed forces from 1966-1968 at Fort Riley, Kansas as a captain. Billy Pat returned to get his masters in pediatric dentistry from the University of Missouri.  He later moved and established a pediatric dental practice in Jackson, MS where he served in the army reserve, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. 

He is survived by his brother, Granville Edgar, his ex-wife Betty Walker Edgar, his three children: Laurie (Carlos) Ramón , Will (Suzanne) Edgar, and Betsy (Gregory) Mazzaferro and 11 grandchildren: Rebeca, Bella and Gabriel Ramón; Maddy & Eliza Mazzafferro; Samuel, Walker, Chapel, Esther, Noel, & Joshua Edgar.

Billy Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Laurie & Granville B Edgar,Sr, his sister Dianne Paschall, and brother-in-law Bob Paschall.
 

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Oct 12 at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton, MS. Memorial gifts can be sent to Four Corners Ministries, fourcourners.org/donate, or Northminster Baptist Church in Jackson.
