Ernest A. (Gus) Kraft Jr.

Passed away October 11, 2017 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be Friday, October 13, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 at Breeland Funeral Home in Canton, MS. Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Canton. Burial will be in the Canton Cemetery.

Mr. Kraft was preceded in death by his first wife Sara Jean Kraft and by his second wife Agnes Kraft. Also by his parents Ernest A. and Ethel Kraft and his brother Jerry Kraft.

Survivors include daughters Jan Bock (Alan) of Memphis, TN, Renee Campbell of Canton, Stacey McCorkle (Tracy) of Olive Branch: sons, Scott Kraft (Wanda) of Canton, Adam Kraft (Kim) of Olive Branch: Step Children: Paul Evans (Robin), Patsy Byas, and Gladys Azeem: Brothers John Kraft, Mike Kraft and Bernie Kraft; Sisters, Margaret Bailey, Jane Murphy, Patricia Leddy and Lucy Nolan; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A lifelong resident of Canton, Mr. Kraft served his country as a Hurricane Hunter in the United States Air Force and the City of Canton as Alderman at Large and Public Works Director.

Special Thank You to Stacey McCorkle, Renee Campbell, Paul and Brittany Evans, and Sherry Ingal for seeing him to his new beginning. Also to his best friend and confidant William (Bill) Mosby.

Pall Bearers: Kyle Bock, Tray McCorkle, Nathan Kraft, Paul Evans, Evan Byas, Chance Byas, Gary Edwards, and John Tucker.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Bill Mosby and First Baptist Men’s Senior Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN.
